Our History

The Erinaceous Group had once been valued at over £400m and became a quoted company on the verge of gaining entry into the FTSE 250. The Group acquired numerous companies with a view to provide a ‘one-stop property shop’.

In the wake of the financial crisis in 2008 and the demise of the Erinaceous Group, the Directors who were responsible for the successful operation based in Brentwood since 2003, completed a Management Buy Out which saved the jobs of over 30 employees and provided continuity of service to every Client.

The new Company was incorporated on 18th April 2008 and named PSW Building Consultancy (Perry Sullivan Watkins).

The Management Buy Out gave PSW a firm foundation from the start, with excellent clients, an impressive order book, a number of Framework Agreements and large scale projects such as a nationally significant PFI contract which spanned across the first three to four years.

PSW were able to combine the expertise and experience gained as part of a large organisation with the care and attention associated with a smaller Consultancy.
As a result, PSW has gone from strength to strength, with new services being offered, new clients on the books, and a clear vision of how to deliver top quality services in a personable manner.

In recent years PSW has become a leading force in the energy monitoring field, recognising the demand for accurate billing, reduction of consumption and compliance with ever changing Legislation.

PSW’s reputation for being approachable, methodical and reliable has resulted from the culture within the teams and the pride that everyone takes in the Company.

We believe that the next ten years will be a period of steady expansion for the Company and we will continue to build on the characteristics which make PSW unique within the sectors we operate.

Steven Neal

Steven Neal

Steven is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has extensive experience in the industry having worked in both public and private sectors.

For more than 30 years, Steven has worked with housing providers and developers to meet their shared objectives. Steven has particular expertise in contract law, negotiation, dispute resolution and risk management.

Steven is responsible for business development and strategic oversight.

David Brown

Director

David Brown

David is a Building Services Engineer with extensive experience in MEP Design and Project implementation.
David is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and oversees our Specialist Asset Condition Monitoring, Data Collection & Analysis Services.

David heads up our design and compliance teams and acts as ESOS Lead Assessor as well as providing crucial consultancy services for SECR Reporting & IS050001 implementation.

Matthew Ford

Matthew Ford

Matthew is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Association for Project Management. For more than 20 years, Matthew has specialised in providing Employers Agent, Project Management, and Cost Consultancy Services to our clients throughout the South East of England.

Matthew heads up the surveying division and has particular responsibility for new business, delivery, technical due diligence and Quality Management Systems.
